The Department of Digital Game Design at Ankara University was established as a pioneering educational program positioned at the intersection of digital culture, interactive media, and creative technologies. The department’s curriculum has been carefully designed to ensure that students graduate equipped with both creative and technical skills that enable them to actively participate in the industry. Our curriculum is periodically updated in accordance with international standards and aligned with innovations in the digital game sector. In our department, education covers all stages of the game design and development process. Our students take both theoretical and practical courses in areas such as game script writing, game engines (Unity, Unreal Engine), 3D modeling and animation, game mechanics design, game psychology, VR/AR applications, game testing, and user experience. Thanks to our modern game laboratories, project studios, and industry-integrated cooperative education programs, students take active roles in professional production environments even before graduation. Through our project-based learning approach, students develop game prototypes individually and in teams throughout their education. Our department aims to achieve recognition in the industry in a short time through its innovative, inclusive, and productive structure. Ensuring that our graduates make a difference in national and international game studios, technology companies, and entrepreneurial initiatives is our primary priority.
